I am so ready for a change of seasons…
Neil Pye over at lo-tech•hi-JOY posted a nice piece on my work… if you haven’t seen his blog, it is a wealth of bodysurfing, hand-planing, alaia-shaping, and surf mat stoke!

If you missed my show at the Mill Valley Public Library in July, here are the show layouts… the large pieces are 55″ x 36″ printed on canvas, the small pieces are 16″ x 16″ printed on canvas, and the triptych is printed on rag paper laminated onto bamboo plywood.

From the archives: a short trip to Mexico featuring long, greasy lefts… perfect for longboarding.

An overview of a pretty fun winter session, if you could keep your mind off of the pelagic beasties lurking below…
Some images from my first black and white photography classes, sometime around 1993-94… simple tools, simple techniques, and a simply overwhelming Pacific Ocean in winter.

My quiver of handplanes… from left to right (bottom) Hess winged swallowtail, #1 plywood pintail, #2 plywood winged-pin, (top) #4 yellow cedar twin keel fish, #5 redwood arc tail, #6 doug fir pintail, #7 redwood arc tail. All of the handplanes are homemade except for the Hess at bottom left.

I have a wall of images on display in the upstairs clubroom at OCSC Sailing School in the Berkeley Marina. OCSC is located at One Spinnaker Way, Berkeley Marina, Berkeley, CA 94710. It’s open to the public from 8am-5pm everyday.
