I’ll have a selection of discounted large-scale canvases as well as some works mounted to bamboo plywood.  Come as you please. The studio will be open from 11am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. This event is in conjunction with the Marin Open Studios Tour (same dates for San Geronimo Valley May 5th and 6th) so there will be plenty of open studios to visit. The Surfrider Foundation Marin County Chapter is pleased to announce a call to local photographers to participate in the exhibition “Marinade – a photographic survey of the Marin county surf experience” at the Stinson Beach Library, showcasing our local beaches, waves, and surfing lifestyle.  The selected works will be on display at the Stinson Beach Library from May 29th through August 31, 2012.

TIMELINE:
Deadline for submissions: May 4th
Notification to Photographers: May 9th
Delivery of accepted works: May 23rd
Opening reception: June 8th 4-7pm
Show open: May 29th – August 31st
ENTRY PROCEDURE:  Your .jpg image submission should be emailed to nick(at)withinwaves.com by May 4th. Images should not exceed 2MB filesize. The filename should have your full name included (for example: JohnSmith.jpg). Also include in the submission your:
• Name:
• Email address:
• Title of work:
• Dimensions of framed work (if available):
CRITERIA:  Each artist is invited to submit one image.  Photographs should be captured in Marin County.  Due to space limitations, the framed prints should not exceed 40″ at the longest side of the image.
PRESENTATION:  Selected finalists must provide their framed image including wire hanger.  The wire works best about 2″ from the top of the frame due to the hanging system in place at the Library.
DELIVERY:  Instructions for hand-delivered works will be given at time of notification that a work has been selected for the exhibition. Delivery and pickup of artwork will be the responsibility of the artist and dates will be given to artists when accepted into the exhibit.
SALES:  An artist can sell his or her own work during the exhibit, but no work will be taken from the exhibit until it concludes. Surfrider Foundation will not act as an intermediary for any sales transactions and will not take any commission on sales of work sold through this exhibition.
